The European Azerbaijan Society (TEAS) welcomes the European Commission's announcement on 23 August 2012 relating to the provision of new funding to support justice and migration in Azerbaijan. This states:

On 18 June, the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs from Russia, France and the US met the Azerbaijani and Armenian Foreign Ministers in Paris. UK Prime Minister David Cameron has acknowledged the ongoing role of Azerbaijan in ensuring the future of international energy security. The statement was issued to mark the opening of the 19th Caspian Oil and Gas Exhibition in Baku. He commented: “Azerbaijan is at the heart of a region whose energy resources will play a vital role in the world economy in the years to come. Azerbaijan has been playing a central and active part in unlocking these resources for the benefit of all.

On 17 May in Baku, Ambassador Roland Kobia, Head of the EU Delegation to Azerbaijan, held a press conference. This was dedicated to the 62nd anniversary of the Schuman Declaration, and the publication of the Progress Report on Azerbaijan within the framework of the European Neighbourhood Policy.

The European Azerbaijan Society (TEAS) welcomes the very positive statements by Ambassador Kobia, who underlined the important work and achievements undertaken by Azerbaijan within the EU–Azerbaijan Action Plan.
